The improvements, totaling more than $267,00, are funded through the FY 2018-19 Urban Road Maintenance District (URMD). The project was originally recommended by the Urban Road Maintenance District Advisory Committee (URMDAC). In March 2019 an open house featuring three URMD projects was held. Attendees gave positive feedback about the 185th sidewalk project.
Since 2011, 49 URMD Pedestrian and Biking Improvement Projects totaling over $21 million have been funded. The public can propose additional Pedestrian and Biking Improvement projects for future consideration by URMDAC. Eligible proposals are added to the Pedestrian and Biking Improvements candidate list, which currently has more than 200 candidates.
